Posted 02/03/2008 - 9:59am by Poohminator Palahniuk is a different read. I haven't read Fight Club, but have read Survivor, and Choke. Survivor was my favorite of the 2. I suggest reading a bit before deciding if its something you want to read.
Posted 02/02/2008 - 11:39pm by Chains never read it but i looked it up and see that the book was really meant to be a short cause its only 208 pages....so i say read it cause its short anyway :)
Posted 02/02/2008 - 10:19pm by DelMonte Has anyone ever read Fight Club? Is it worth the read? I was just wondering if anyone claims it to be better than the film.
Posted 08/10/2007 - 12:48am by Poohminator Don't forget about Hatter M. Entire first issue here. Hmm. Nevermind. It looks like the images are gone. Guess we'll just have to buy the comic.
Posted 08/09/2007 - 10:37pm by KnocK Ok... BUT one I picked up today that I think is going to be awesome. The Looking Glass Wars Nil, on the site for the book they even have an online card game that may be worth looking at. I haven't checked it out yet. This is supposed to be a trilogy, Seeing Redd is the next book that is out. I think this may be my new Harry Potter.
Posted 06/03/2007 - 6:27pm by Saint Here is my latest read. I think it's one that the more literary-bent members of TGH would particularly enjoy.
Posted 04/16/2007 - 2:51am by Anubis I just got it in the mail yesterday. So, no. I'll pick it up after if finish American Gods.
Posted 04/16/2007 - 12:41am by KnocK Ed, have you read any Alhazred yet?
Posted 04/15/2007 - 11:37pm by Anubis I've been reading American Gods as well. I think I've found another favorite author in Neil Gaiman.
Posted 04/15/2007 - 2:53pm by KnocK Here is Monster Island to read.
Posted 04/11/2007 - 9:29pm by KnocK Ok... I saw this book online many times and I just thought it looked like it might be on the cheesy side. But I decided to pick up 'Monster Island' by David Wellington. This is an awesome book. Quick read. got it friday and will probably finish it tonight or tomorrow, but an awesome zombie novel. It's the first of a promised trilogy. I picked up 'Monster Nation' today, the second book. The last that is to be published in September is 'Monster Planet'. Wellington has a vampire book due out in May called '13 Bullets'. I think the vampire genre is overplayed, as some may say the zombie epidemic has become. However, with what he has put on paper for zombies, I will pick up '13 Bullets'. I am also reading 'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman. This is a cool story so far. Kevin got me wanting to read this author and Jon got me wanting to read this particular story. about 1/3 of the way through. I like it, I will tell ya more later.
Posted 03/29/2007 - 7:30pm by quade Yeah, that sounds like a pretty cool read. But I don't know if that's in his collection or not -- they're in storage right now, but I'll keep my eye out for it next time I'm going through them.
Posted 03/28/2007 - 10:46pm by Saint I started this yesterday... On a personal note, Quade, I think you'd appreciate this book. If you haven't already read it pick it up. I wouldn't be surprised if your dad had it in his massive sci-fi collection. :)
Posted 03/28/2007 - 9:44pm by DelMonte We went to the library tonight and I got Evan the three little pigs. Did you know in the early versions two of the pigs get eaten and the wof gets boiled!! Nice story for a three year old. They should rate these things.

Posted 01/18/2007 - 10:56pm by Chains im mostly reading comics now. Its hard to find time to read normal books. I think im deevolving :(
Posted 01/18/2007 - 10:54pm by KnocK Alhazred is one of the best books I have read in quite sometime. I put it right there when I read 'the stand' the first time. If you like your reads to be graphic... pick it up.
Posted 01/18/2007 - 9:59pm by Saint I've been quite prolific in my reading over the break... Shortly before, I finished Will Storr vs the Supernatural. Quite a quirky and funny book, but I found some value in it for how it describes the hobby of ghost-hunting (which I would seriously love to pursue one day). Then there was World War Z. An oral history of the Zombie War. I found it entertaining, but a little repetitive. and now Knock and I are both reading Alhazred. It's fairly good, in my opinion, though I'll let Knock voice his own about it. It's set in the Cthulu mythos and is the tale of the sorcerer who wrote the Necronomicon. I'm also slowly reading Winkie. The story of a teddy bear who wills himself to life and then finds himself on the wrong side of America's War on Terror. :)
Posted 07/05/2006 - 6:21pm by Chains I read all the eragon books and i found them to be pretty entertaining. Not bad at all for a teenage writer....the rich bastard. hehe |
